SECRET MUSIC

Presley Regier is best known for opening for Canadian pop sensation Tate McRae in 2024, but he’s also built a loyal fanbase on TikTok, where he’s approaching 60K followers. He first caught our attention with “Have Your Way” and “They Know I’m Bored” from his RUN EP, then kept us hooked with a collection of heartfelt, soft-boy anthems, including “Nightly” and “Questions.”

Produced by pianist and producer Jasper Harris, “Nightly” showcases Presley’s emotional vulnerability. Harris is known for his work with Aaron Shadrow—guitarist for the Presley Regier band (and member of Miley Duo), as well as his songwriting contributions to Tate McRae’s “Greedy” and Playboi Carti’s “Once More.” 

The song,”Nightly” explores the loneliness and emotional conflict that come with searching for genuine love. It’s about that bittersweet feeling of wanting a fleeting relationship to last just a little longer. “Just one more night,” Presley sings in a sultry, vulnerable tone — longing for something deeper, more meaningful, and more permanent. The track pulls listeners into an emotional rollercoaster that’s both intimate and extremely relatable.

Then there’s “Questions.” Also produced by Jasper Harris! This song dives into feelings of insecurity, emotional vulnerability, and the fear of losing someone you love. It captures the anxiety that can arise early in a relationship, when distance begins to grow and the possibility of being replaced starts to creep into your mind. Then, as if the original wasn’t enough, Presley later surprised us with a new version of the song, featuring indie-songstress Ari Abdul (and fellow lgtbq+ activist). It’s a collaboration that gives listeners even more than they bargained for. Adding another emotional layer to an already standout track. 

Not bad for a 22-year-old alternative pop artist who’s quickly making a name for himself in the music industry. If these songs are any indication of what’s to come, Presley Regier is definitely an artist worth keeping an eye on. An artist who is my muse, and inspired me to get back into music. And someone who I will be sure to explore often in future posts!
